The Buckwheat Dump in Franklin, New Jersey is an excellent site for collecting specimens. Still today rare finds are being discovered.

The Buckwheat Dump located behind the Franklin Mineral Museum is one of my favorite collecting sites. Still today some rare finds are being discovered. Franklin fluorescent specimens are some of the nicest specimens I have seen. I visit the Buckwheat Dump often. You never know what you can find there. Lots of Willemite and Calcite. But every so often you could pull one of those rare specimens from the pit. If you like fluorescent minerals than Franklin, New Jersey is an area you must visit.
